ENERGO-PRO Bulgaria EAD

ENERGO-PRO Bulgaria EAD is the largest privately-owned hydropower producer in Bulgaria. With a total installed capacity of 166 MW and an average annual electricity production of 428 GWh, it is also the largest private producer of renewable energy in the country.

Bulgaria was the first country where we started our international expansion. ENERGO-PRO Bulgaria EAD was founded in 2000. Today it owns and operates 14 hydropower plants. Ten of these hydropower plants are united in four different cascades – Sandanska Bistritsa Cascade, Pirinska Bistritsa Cascade, Koprinka Cascade and Petrohan Cascade.

ENERGO-PRO Varna EAD

An important milestone in our expansion into Bulgaria was the purchase of one of the three local electricity distribution companies. In June 2012, through our company ENERGO-PRO Varna EAD, we purchased the distribution network in the north-eastern part of the country from the German company E.ON. ENERGO-PRO Varna EAD has three subsidiaries – Electrodistribution North AD, ENERGO-PRO Sales AD and ENERGO-PRO Energy Services AD.

Electrodistribution North AD

The company’s main activity is the maintenance and development of the electricity distribution network. It provides transmission, distribution and supply of electricity over an area of 30,000 square kilometers in the North-Eastern Bulgaria.

ENERGO-PRO Sales AD

The company, operating on the regulated market, provides electricity supply to more than 1.1 million customers, including households and small businesses, and provides related services. In 2023 the company supplied 3.3 TWh of electricity.

ENERGO-PRO Energy Services EAD

The company supplies electricity to large Bulgarian consumers under free energy market conditions. In 2023 the company supplied 3.3 TWh of electricity.
