The prize in the Sustainable (ESG) Project category is for the project under the LIFE program "Safe sky for birds in North-Eastern Bulgaria"
At an official ceremony on February 13, ENERGO-PRO Varna won third place in the Employer branding awards 2025 competition. The annual awards of b2b Media distinguish businesses and individuals for innovations in talent management and new successful strategies in the development of human resources. The award was presented to Plamen Stefanov, member of the Management Board and executive director of ENERGO-PRO Varna.
"For the ENERGO-PRO team, it is an honor that the project under the LIFE program of the EU "Safe sky for birds in North-Eastern Bulgaria" has been awarded as a significant contribution in the field of sustainable development. We are proud that a total of 390 of our motivated employees through the implementation of diverse activities unite to achieve the goals of the project for the protection of biodiversity among feathered animals", shared Mr. Stefanov upon receiving the award. The project naturally engages colleagues from all companies in the Group in achieving the ESG goals of the company. Their participation in it increases their sense of significance by fulfilling environmental and social commitments as part of their work. At the same time, the implemented measures, in addition to preventing the mortality of birds from a possible collision with overhead power lines, will limit unplanned power outages, which will increase the security of electricity supply to customers.
The "Safe sky for birds in North-Eastern Bulgaria" project is a joint initiative of Electrodistribution North – the electricity distribution company of the ENERGO-PRO Varna group, and the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds - a partner of BirdLife International in the country. The aim of the project is to prevent unnatural mortality among 16 globally threatened bird species caused by electrocution and collision with overhead power lines. Within the project which has a 5-year implementation period will be secured more than 10,000 electric poles and marked overhead wires with 2,000 diverters in 28 Natura 2000 project areas and in key corridors between special protected areas.
